“The Naked Soul”
A visual look into The Naked Soul by Adrianne Munroe. A short collection of 34 poems that is a genuine reflection of her healing and the baring of her soul. A book for everyone, especially young Black girls and women who have ever felt alone or as though they could never be 100 percent themselves unapologetically.
“The Green Rose”
What does paradise look like to you? Paradise engulfs me when I bond my pen with a page. Each word speaks life into me as the freedom found when sharing my truth graces me.
“War”
A monologue that dives into the sadness, anxiety, and pain I felt as a result of witnessing my people die amid a pandemic. There is an internal war between the body to stay in good health and an external one to survive racism, police brutality, and oppression. This piece also serves as a tribute to Breonna Taylor. "War" was written 195 days after her heartbreaking passing.
